Margarita Pizza

Ingredients: Serving: 6-8 slices


Pizza Dough

  • 2 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 cup warm water

  • 2 teaspoons active yeast

  • ½ teaspoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil


Tomato Sauce

  • 2 cups of tomato sauce

  • 3 teaspoons dried basil

  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano

  • 2 cloves minced garlic

  • ½ teaspoon of red pepper flakes

  • pinch of black pepper and salt


Toppings

  • mozzarella cheese shreds (or make your own mozzarella cheese)

  • 3 tomatoes sliced

  • handful of cherry tomatoes

  • sun dried tomatoes

  • dried basil

  • dried oregano

  • red pepper flakes


Instructions


  1. First prepare the pizza dough, In a medium bowl add olive oil and set aside

  2. In a separate small bowl add active yeast and water and mix and set aside for a couple minutes

  3. In another medium bow add the flour, salt and sugar

  4. Pour wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and start mixing together, once the dough if forming into a ball place it into the bowl with the olive oil and kneed a little bit more, then cover and let rise for at least an hour.

  5. While your waiting for the dough to rise prepare the sauce and toppings.

  6. Add all sauce ingredients to a blender and blend well, this will give the sauce a well full flavor.

  7. Next prepare all the toppings, chop the tomatoes etc.

  8. Once dough is risen, preheat oven to 450F,

  9. Roll the pizza dough out on a prepared pizza pan, spread the pizza sauce on, sprinkle the cheese, then place fresh and sun dried tomatoes on top then place in the preheated oven for about 20/25 minutes or until the edges of the pizza look a little toasted.

  10. Once pizza is out of the oven sprinkle with the dried oregano, dried basil and red pepper flakes and its ready to go! Enjoy!
